Studs Terkel and Ida Goldberg
I heard an interesting story about Studs Terkel and his love for his wife. He married Ida Goldberg in 1939. She died in 1999.
While discussing his own death one day, Studs told the person that when he died he wanted to be cremated and his ashes mixed with Idas and sprinkled in a certain public place. The person doing the interview mentioned that it was against the law to sprinkle one's ashes there. Studs replied, "Let them sue us!"
It is great when one finds their true love. Studs and Ida got to spend 60 years together. Others are not so fortunate. However, it usually doesn't matter if it is 6 or 60 years, one always wants more years. Unfortunately, "till death" will happen before we think it should.
