Sunshine Makes a Difference
Sunshine makes a difference. When you are down and hurting emotionally and the day is overcast and dreary, a ray of sunshine makes a difference. Today is April 5 and the sun is shining. Life is good.
I remember when I came home from the funeral of my son and for the first time noticed how dark our basement was. It wasn't any darker than before but inside I was dark and dreary. A person is that way for a long time after a loss. But little by little there is more sunshine and the dark dreary days become less and less oppressing.
There are people who experience SAD (seasonal affective Disorder) and they feel down and depressed during the winter months.
I have a friend who loves rainy dark days. I have never asked her if she gets depressed when the sun shines. Perhaps I should.
There are those who believe that sonshine makes a difference too. I am one of them. Perhaps that will only make sense to Christians. Regardless of how you view sunshine or sonshine I hope we can get along with one another. Peace.
