I thought about Jeff
A recent article in USA Today mentioned how the FDA wants the suicide warning for antidepressents expanded to young adults because of the increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior.
This caused me to think of Jeff. Jeff was a young adult who told his parents he was having trouble coping and they took him to the family physician who prescribed an antidepressant. Then the parents went on a trip. When they came back. Jeff had taken his life.
This involves the "what if". What if the FDA had made this recommendation much earlier, before Jeff had taken the pills? What if his parents and doctor knew about this and they had monitored him much closer? Would the outcome been different? Perhaps? We will never know.
One of the greatest things to overcome involving suicide is to overcome the what if. I will pray that you are able to move from "what if" to "what now". Peace.
